Carbon Footprint

The production of animal-based foods is the largest cause of harmful greenhouse gases and leads to deforestation of our rainforest – nearly 80% of the Amazon is being cleared for land to grow feed. In addition, enormous amounts of water is required in animal agriculture. 15,000 litres of water are needed to produce 1 kg of beef.

Global meat and milk production is responsible for 60% of agricultural greenhouse gas emissions, yet the products themselves account for only 37% of protein and 18% of calories in the diet.

It's time to care.
